Additives and Packages for Temporary Corrosion Protection
Additiv-Chemie Luers (ACL) offers a range of additives for producing temporary rust preventatives. These products primarily differ based on the medium in which they are dissolved (mineral oil, solvent, or water).
Dewatering Fluids
These are also packages for temporary rust protection but with a focus on water displacement and good wetting. The protection duration is generally shorter, but the film is easier to remove.
Oxidates
Oxidates are mixtures of oxidized hydrocarbon compounds with varying compositions. White oils, paraffin waxes, or microcrystalline waxes are used. Oxidates are suitable, for example, as additives in rolling or corrosion protection fluids.
Butyl Esters
The esterification of produced oxidates follows the oxidation process. Oxidate esters (commonly known as butyl esters) are a widely used component in temporary rust preventatives products. They are highly polar, have excellent wetting properties, and have a high surface affinity.
Barium, Sodium, Calcium Sulfonates
Compounds are modified esters, soaps, and/or oxidates formulated according to specific customer requirements.
