Sustainability as a Guiding Principle –
Our Commitment to a Better Future

We are aware of our long-term responsibility towards the environment and, above all, to our employees, customers, and suppliers, and we view sustainability as a guiding component of our daily operations.

Our sustainability program focuses on a holistic view of the three aspects: economy, ecology, and social issues. We see our greatest leverage in the development of products with an improved sustainability profile – e.g. due to bio-based components and reduced hazard labelling.

To promote transparency and engagement in our industry and to identify our optimization potential, we have opted for a sustainability rating from EcoVadis and were awarded the Gold Medal for 2025. This places us among the top 5% of rated companies.

Our Four Areas of Action

Sustainability is a guiding component of our corporate management, which is why we have integrated it as a holistic concept with four major areas of action into our philosophy:

In this focus area, we target our products and their transformation, supporting our customers and suppliers in achieving their own climate goals.

Selected Goals and Measures in this Area Include:

  • Expansion of the product portfolio through the development of products containing bio-based components and/or that are biodegradable.
  • Continuous improvement of product quality and safety by reducing labeling requirements and increasing the proportion of low-pollutant or pollutant-free products in compliance with CLP and REACH regulations.
  • Calculation of Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) for selected products on a cradle-to-gate basis, according to data availability and the uniform criteria set by UEIL.

The focus area encompasses all measures related to climate and environmental protection at our own locations. Our main focus is on energy efficiency, emissions (covering our entire Scope 2 electricity demand through our own photovoltaics and green electricity procurement) and the Product Carbon Footprint.

Selected Goals and Measures in this Area Include:

  • To reduce our energy consumption and associated emissions, we rely on energy efficiency measures and the procurement of renewable energy via guarantees of origin.
  • Regular energy audits according to DIN EN 16247-1 to identify improvement potentials regarding the Corporate Carbon Footprint.
  • Certification according to ISO 14001 – Our environmental management system is regularly independently audited and supports us in reducing environmental impacts and continuously improving our environmental performance.

In this area, we emphasize our principle that "Business is made between people". We value long-term, trustworthy partnerships with our suppliers, customers, and business partners. Our actions are characterized by corporate responsibility, reliability, and fairness. We also take responsibility along our supply chains. We promote transparency and dialogue and actively shape the developments in our industry.
