Corrosion inhibitors for water-soluble and water-miscible metalworking fluids include:

Aminoborates

Boric acid compounds or mixtures with various alkanolamines are commonly used in many formulations. At ACL, we offer a range of boric acid esters and blends, specially designed with advanced corrosion protection. These compounds, often combined with various alkanolamines, are key components in durable and easy-to-use metalworking coolants. Our borates and carboxylates enhance the performance of the coolants, ensuring long-lasting efficiency in your metalworking processes.
Various amines are used, with all standard products being DEA-free. DEA-containing products are also available for specific applications.

Aminocarboxylates

These are used in both boron-containing and boron-free coolants to enhance corrosion protection properties and are easily incorporated into formulations. ACL produces MEA- and TEA-based compounds, as well as specially formulated, low-odor, and skin-friendly carboxylates.

Compounds with Triazinetricarboxylic Acids

These are excellent corrosion inhibitors for ferrous materials, being water-soluble in their neutralized form, making them ideal for use in coolants, cleaners, and test fluids. ACL offers pure acid as well as a range of liquid compounds on a similar basis, often in combination with other corrosion inhibitors.

Alkyl-Aryl-Sulfonamidocarboxylic Acids

Polycarboxylic Acids:

ACL offers pure, powdered products and water-miscible blends with unique properties for quick dissolution. All polycarboxylic acids are free of nitrites and secondary amines. ACL specializes in C11 and C12 dicarboxylic acids, as well as powdered blends of polycarboxylic acids.

Amines and Sodium-Neutralized Phosphoric Acid Esters:

These are available in various formulations with different amines, including partially neutralized versions. These hard-water stable products provide good corrosion protection, even in acidic environments. Phosphoric acid esters are suitable for cleaning fluids or vapor phase inhibitors.

Sodium-neutralized phosphate esters, known for their stability, are available in multiple configurations, including partially neutralized compounds. Variants that are particularly stable in hard water conditions are also offered. Amine-free phosphate esters are particularly well-suited for the formulation of synthetic fluids used in hard metal grinding applications.
